"Seriously, Sel, I don't know how you get away with the sort of stuff you do. I mean, I'm the pilot. I thought girls went for the flyboys. Bucketheads like you?"
―Pym to Selwyn PhasmaCoruscant Call Girl

Pym Dameron was a Human male, and the brother of Kes Dameron, who served as a captain with the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars, and later a TIE fighter pilot flight instructor with the Imperial Flight Academy. Friends with General Selwyn Phasma and Senator Leto Borian since the war, Pym drank at the Outlander Club around the time of the growing Death Star threat.

Biography[edit]

Early life and Republic service[edit]

Pym Dameron was a Human male born into the Dameron family on Gal Milnor in 48 ABY. He had a brother, Kes Dameron, and heard stories of the Battle of Malastare Narrows and the peace-keeping efforts of the Outland Regions Security Force. Inspired by these tales, Pym stowed away aboard a purrgil-whaling starship to leave his homeworld and join the Republic Navy.[1]

Pym participated in the Clone Wars[2] as a captain[3] and loyal pilot of the Galactic Republic, and flew a V-19 Torrent during the Battle of Kamino until his vessel was downed by a saberjowl. Pym fought the beast, and was assisted by Commander Selwyn Phasma of the Grand Army of the Republic, with whom he became firm friends[1] and brothers-in-arms.[4] They testified before the Senate Military Oversight Committee following the battle, and met Senator Leto Borian of Atzerri during the testimony.[2] They formed a triumvirate, and spent much time drinking and seducing conquests in Coruscant bars,[1] remaining friends over the next two decades.[2]

Imperial service[edit]

"All right. I think that does me for the night."
"You sure? I bet this one has a sister of her own. Or at least a roommate. Or a friend...."
―Pym and Selwyn Phasma, on a Twi'lek barmaidCoruscant Call Girl

With the rise of the Galactic Empire, Pym joined the Imperial Academy as a flight instructor for potential TIE fighter pilots,[2] and was rotated through the Imperial Flight Academies of Prefsbelt IV, Montross, and Corellia. Serving as the Rebel Alliance formed its organized resistance against the Imperial regime, Pym found his family connections strained as Kes joined the rebel movement he was forced to do battle against.[1]

Some nineteen years after the Clone Wars, Pym joined Selwyn and Leto in the Outlander Club, where Selwyn regaled the friends with stories while groping a Twi'lek barmaid. Pym expressed his bemusement at Selwyn's behavior while drinking Jogan liquor, and soon called it a night despite his friend offering up the Twi'lek's sister or room mate. Pym departed after some good-natured ribbing from his friends, leaving Selwyn and Leto to discuss military matters and visit the Star Whores club.[2] Kes later flew against several of Pym's TIE fighter pilots over Endor, furthering the family tensions.[1]

Legacy[edit]

Pym Dameron was known as a starfighter ace, and his legacy was continued by Kes's son, Poe Dameron, who flew as a fighter pilot for the New Republic and the Resistance Starfighter Corps.[1]

Description[edit]

Personality and traits[edit]

"If we were back in the good old days, maybe. These days, though, I have to save it for the old grav well projector."
―Pym, refusing the offer of female company from Selwyn PhasmaCoruscant Call Girl

Pym considered himself a flyboy whom the girls went for, though expressed bemusement that a former scout trooper like General Selwyn Phasma was capable of attracting female attention. He recalled the old days fondly, and lamented being unable to conduct himself as he once did. Leto Borian considered him a true friend.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit]

Pym Dameron was created by Das Flute for his 2015 work of canon erotic fiction, "Coruscant Call Girl". He shares a surname with Poe and Kes Dameron, to whom he was connected via family ties in Kooriv's The Essential Guide to Erotica Characters.
