Nyreen Borian[1]

Leto Borian was a Human male who served as senator and ambassador of Atzerri in the Galactic Senate of the Republic and the Imperial Senate of the Galactic Empire.

Biography[edit]

Senator of the Republic[edit]

The representative of Atzerri in the Republic Senate prior to the Clone Wars, Senator Leto Borian had a wife, Nyreen Borian. He enjoyed drinking alcohol even before the Secessionist Movement, though maintained more serious vices in other areas.[1]

During the Clone Wars, Borian was assigned to the Senate Military Oversight Committee, and met Selwyn Phasma and Pym Dameron when they testified following the Battle of Kamino. The three became friends and continued their association over the decades to come. Borian heard of atrocities committed by former Jedi such as Pong Krell and Barriss Offee, seeing them as a symptom of the corruption in the Republic. He received the Republic Medal of Valor.[1]

The New Order[edit]

When the Emperor proclaimed the birth of the Galactic Empire, Borian saw the reformation as a new dawn for the galaxy, and found his claims of a planned Jedi rebellion plausible thanks to the atrocities committed by some of the order's number in the war. The Empire itself committed several callous acts, including the Antar Atrocity that saw millions of Gotal refugees flooding to Atzerri, making it a post-war powerhouse. Nyreen remained on Atzerri as head of its Manufacturing Cartel and as the mistress of the Zabrak Moff Shona Mala. Despite this, neither Leto nor Nyreen considered filing for divorce, knowing it was part of the give-and-take of politics.[1]

On many occasions Borian would join Selwyn and Pym at the Outlander Club for drink and companionship, before continuing their night at other venues.[1]

Visiting Viqi[edit]

Almost nineteen years after the end of the Clone Wars, Leto joined Selwyn Phasma and Pym Dameron in the Outlander Club, drinking while Selwyn told stories and fondled a Twi'lek barmaid. Pym departed after some teasing, leaving Leto and Selwyn to discuss military matters before deciding to venture to the Star Whores club. They took an air taxi to Level 1313, where Leto was the subject of interest among milling alien species of the Crymorah Syndicate territory. Relying on his blaster and his armed valet droid JV-3, Borian whistled to himself as he departed the landing terminal for the club, arriving in the red light district with Selwyn to be greeted warmly by Viqi.[1]

Description[edit]

Physical appearance and traits[edit]

A middle-aged male Human as of almost nineteen years after the end of the Clone Wars, Leto Borian was silver-haired and well-dressed.[1]

Personality and traits[edit]

Borian kept a blaster and holster, and traveled Coruscant's lower levels in the presence of JV-3, a heavily-armed valet droid. He enjoyed alcohol, such as prow, from before the Secessionist Movement to the reign of the Galactic Empire, although did so for the companionship, and looked elsewhere for his more serious vices.[1]

He saw the birth of the Galactic Empire as a new dawn for the galaxy with the reformation of the corrupt Republic and the fall of the Jedi Order into a streamlined political structure. Although his hopes for an efficient government were dashed with the Antar Atrocity, the occupation of Lasan, and other callous acts, Borian chose to work within the system rather than against it. He believed that the presence of criminal syndicates on Coruscant, acting as legitimate sources of authority in the lower levels, was proof that the Empire was strong enough to safely ignore such activities—a stance that disagreed with fellow Loyalist Committee members. However, he found the slavery trade distasteful, and saw shame in the activities of Hutt and Zygerrian slavers. He found conspiracy theories concerning Darth Vader and other notable figures laughable, although he was aware of certain truths about the Sith influence on the Empire, and how the running of daily Imperial affairs was given over to Mas Amedda. He found working within the government difficult but rewarding.[1]

Sexuality and orientation[edit]

Borian's wife, Nyreen, was the mistress of Shona Mala, though neither chose to file for divorce, knowing it was part of the give-and-take of galactic politics.[1]
