Early life[edit]

Ikana's grandparents were Togruta colonists on Kiros who were enslaved by the Zygerrian Slave Empire during the Clone Wars. They escaped from Kadavo, and her grandmother showed her gratitude to several clone troopers of the Galactic Republic, one of whom left her with the parting "gift" of a pregnancy discovered some months later. She gave birth to Ikana's father, a hybrid, though the family was shunned from the Togruta worlds for the biological shame he represented towards the Kiros mass-enslavement. They were pushed to the fringes of the galaxy under the racial purity laws of the Galactic Empire, though the hybrid found a lover and eventually ended up on Jakku, conceiving their daughter Ikana in the agri-combine settlement of Reestkii.[1]
Working at Old Meru's[edit]
Ikana began working at Old Meru's brothel in the Sacred Village of New Reslia in 32 BBY, two years before her encounter with the scavenger Rey. She sent remittances back to her parents every lunar cycle, and visited them in Reestkii on occasion, though she never told them how she earned her money and they never asked, all three simply happy to spend time together whenever they could. On occasion she and other girls would help lost travelers who accidentally stumbled into the brothel, but typically serviced merchants and junk traders passing through New Reslia to other settlements on Jakku. More than once Ikana serviced snooty scavengers from the Core Worlds who dangled the promise of taking her with them into the wider galaxy, and while Ikana was tempted enough by these offers to indulge in dreams while they fucked her, her common sense prevailed.[1]
Meru called Ikana in to prepare a newcomer, Rey, for her first night in the brothel, and quickly befriended the Human scavenger while helping with her hair, makeup, and outfit in one of the back rooms. She found the girl's salvaging exploits in the Goazon Badlands impressive, and gave her the professional name of Varina after the holoporn star Varina Kaadara. Finding an outfit to dress Rey like Varina in her prime, Ikana talked about her life before proudly showing Rey her new look, and took her to a glory hole to help her practice fellatio before the brothel's opening. She introduced Rey to the Twi'lek Uri'klitsk and joined her in blowing an antilles while Rey watched. Ikana had red skin with blue freckles around her eyes, and short, stubby montrals and lekku of white and blue stripes. As a Human-Togruta hybrid, Ikana lacked the typical facial coloration patches of baseline Togrutas. She had plump, ruby-red lips and small, red hands. She was cute and exotic, and kept herself clean and well-groomed.[1]

She wore a pale green shift, black, high-cut bikini panties, and simple sandals when she met Rey in Meru's brothel, and wore no makeup. She was enthusiastic over fashion, finding new outfits for girls to wear to make them look glamorous. She handled clothes and makeup with the dexterity of a Xexto, and often talked about her life while dressing others.[1]
Personality and traits[edit]
Ikana was a chipper young girl who looked younger than her years. She had a young and fresh demeanor coupled with a cheerful attitude that set her apart from typical hardened brothel workers, though she was bitter over those who took advantage of girls such as herself in need of credits. She was friendly towards strangers and enthusiastic about her work, and wasn't shy about showing physical comfort towards acquaintances. She greatly enjoyed finding new outfits for new working girls. Rey considered her to have a heart of aurodium.[1]
Ikana considered the holoporn star Varina Kaadara to be a role model. While tempted by opportunities to leave Jakku, Ikana listened to her common sense, indulging in the dream only long enough for her customers to fuck her.[1]
