Imperial Era[5]

Fulcrum was the title used by Alliance Intelligence agents of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and members of Fulcrum cells and the Fulcrum Network. These agents, including the likes of Cassian Jeron Andor and Alexsandr Kallus, served as informants and contacts for rebel cells at secret rendezvous points, and recruited new members into the Alliance.

Description[edit]

"Like I said, I'm not used to people sticking around—or getting quite so close. Any closer, Captain Andor, and you'll be inside me. Unless that's how a Rebel agent operates?"
―Jyn Erso, to Cassian Andor, alias FulcrumThe Essential Guide to Erotica Characters

Fulcrum was the name used by agents of the Alliance to Restore the Republic[1] who served as contacts and informants for rebel groups conducting strikes against the Galactic Empire.[5] These agents operated as part of the Fulcrum Network of rebels[4] in Alliance Intelligence, which maintained secret rendezvous points including the Ring of Kafrene.[3] Some Fulcrum agents were known to recruit others to the Rebel Alliance.[6]

Hera Syndulla was chosen by Fulcrum for her pragmatism while conducting strikes against the Galactic Empire aboard the Ghost alongside Kanan Jarrus. Syndulla refused to divulge the identity of her mysterious informant to Jarrus, considering the information "need-to-know". She attempted a rendezvous with Fulcrum in the Sharva Exurb on Nuri in 5 BBY, though the safehouse was compromised and Syndulla was forced to flee from local syndicate thugs, sustaining injury and requiring treatment from Jarrus aboard the Ghost.[5] The Fulcrum cell continued to operate out of Nuri for the next several years, and sent a supply shipment to the Diego Moon that was eventually stored in the Great Temple of Massassi on Yavin 4 and provided K-2SO with his phallic attachment.[7]

The Imperial Security Bureau officer Alexsandr Kallus, investigating the Spectres on Lothal, underwent a crisis of conscience and began aiding his former foes under the alias Fulcrum. He ultimately deserted the Empire to join the Rebellion, and operated as a key Fulcrum informant with the Massassi Group on Yavin 4.[2]

Wedge Antilles was recruited by a Fulcrum agent.[6]

Bail Organa was one of the individuals engaged with the Fulcrum Network, although his brazen association with the group caught the attention of the Imperial Security Bureau[4] after Captain Isaac Salvatore investigated Organa's ties to the network during a gala on Alderaan. Information uncovered in Organa's private files was later used to blackmail him,[8] and though the Empire was slow to deal with Organa, eventually he and his family were threatened with imprisonment and Alderaan with occupation unless his adopted daughter, Princess Leia Organa, took up a position in the influential Star Whores club on Coruscant. Leia was forced to comply, and Bail remained in line. Despite this, the Mas Amedda and the Security Bureau continued to underestimate its opponents despite the network's achievements in recent years, and Senator Leto Borian eventually threw in his lot with Fulcrum alongside his allies,[4] and began coordinating with some of the network's members.[9]

Fulcrum was one of the numerous names Intelligence agent Cassian Jeron Andor went by during missions for the Rebellion.[1]

Alliance Intelligence maintained the Ring of Kafrene as one of its secret Fulcrum rendezvous points. During her imprisonment aboard the Death Star, Leia Organa considered bartering her way to the Ring of Kafrene, or another such rendezvous point in order to reunite with the Rebels.[3]
