Aria was an Alderaanian goddess of love worshiped in the Temple of Aria on the planet Alderaan.

Aria, the Goddess of Desire,[2] was worshiped at the Temple of Aria on Alderaan, where priests taught sex education to young Alderaanians. Believers such as Princess Leia Organa were known to pray to Aria in times of peril,[1] and carried out duties in the temple[2] including the Duty to Aria.[4] The religion once practiced the art of sacred temple prostitution, considering it to be a real and important duty.[3]

Alderaan had a long tradition of sacred prostitution, which at one point in the planet's history was considered to be a real and important duty conducted at sacred temples.[3]
During her youth, Leia Organa carried out duties in the Temple of Aria on Alderaan,[2] including her Duty to Aria[4] that, when completed with her Day of Demand led to her becoming the Princess of Alderaan.[5] She was advised to practice anal sex as a form of birth control by priests at the temple. She continued to believe in the deity during the era of the Galactic Civil War.[1]
After escaping from Cell 2187 aboard the DS-1 Orbital Battle Station by overpowering Devin Cant and Ansin Thobel, Leia Organa prayed to Aria as she dove into a garbage chute leading to garbage masher 3263827, hoping she would survive the fall.[1]
Leia invoked Aria's desire when flipped upside-down during a tryst with the Wookiee Chewbacca.[6]
Following the destruction of Alderaan, the religion continued to be practiced by "priestesses" from New Alderaan who claimed to be preserving the worship of Aria by engaging in prostitution in the red-light sector of New Reslia on Jakku. A Temple of Aria was established in the Sacred Village, although it failed to do justice to the long tradition of sacred prostitution among the Elder Houses of Alderaan's High Court.[3]

Aria was first mentioned in erotica canon in Shabby Blue and Das Flute's 2017 erotic fiction "The One-Eyed Monster".[1] The deity was created as an Alderaanian goddess of desire in Legends erotica.[6]
